One of the main reasons I started the Cernunnos Foundation and its associated web zines (Blue Ribbon Team and Relevant Irreverence …not to mention my art page at StepBastard) was because of my frustration in trying to put my artwork out in the world through social media. It seems like every time I would find away to share it, the company would retool their network to push paid ads, and bury art. As an artist, I am sure you know it wasn’t just me. It becomes infinitely harder to even find artwork I like.
So I decided to do what many artists do and just start publishing my own work on my own terms. The next challenge is in getting eyes on it. This is a challenge that we all face as artists. I have a solution that benefits us both. All three of my webzines will be hosting artist profiles from specific groups of artists, to provide them with a free place to put up some contact information and examples of their work, along with links to their own pages so that they can market their work.
What groups can post to which pages?
Cernunnos Foundation will be hosting visual artists that special in nature art. This includes plants, animals, and landscapes whether drawn, photographed, or painted.
Blue Ribbon Team will be hosting Indiana artists. That is artists who reside in or have a strong connection (we recognize birthright citizenship) to the great state of Indiana.
And finally, Relevant Irreverence will be hosting my beloved weirdos. We want all the off beat, strange, and awkward art here. Special preference will be given to cryptid and monster art, but short of actual pornography you will be challenged to make something weird enough that we do not publish it.
If you would like to have a profile placed on one of these sites, just fill out the application form and submit example artwork in jpg or png format below, or through the artist profile page.
